Lady Indian Softball on the road to White County to open the 2019-2020 Softball season. The Indians start strong with a three run shot by Natalie Robinson to take a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the first. White County comes back scoring two runs to end the inning Lumpkin 3 White 2. The second inning ends with White taking a 4-6 lead over the Indians. Lumpkin comes back in the top of the third with two RBI’s, the first two runs off Natalie Shubert and a one run off AK Wilson. Going into the bottom of the third with a 7-6 lead. White comes back with two more runs to lead 7-8 at the end of the third. The fourth and fifth innings were scoreless defensive battles. Headed into the sixth inning the Indians trail 7-8. The Indians come back in the top of the 6th off a one run RBI by Hannah Pulley to tie 8-8. Bottom of the 6th White County bats come alive for 6 runs to take a 8-14 lead over the Indians heading into the top of the seventh inning. A tough defense by White County keeps the Indians from scoring in the top of the seventh. The Lady Indians drop the first game of the season with the final Lumpkin County 8 White County 14. The ladies will play again on Tuesday with a home opener against Pickens. Go Indians!!! Indian Pride!
